In order to prevent graduation celebrations in schools around the state, the Katsina State House of Assembly has called on the state government to take action.

The deputy speaker, Abduljal Runka, presided over the plenary session on Tuesday in Katsina, where the resolution was achieved.

Zango constituency representative Tasi’u Musa-Maigari, who presented the motion, claimed that these kinds of events frequently lead to social vices and raise security issues throughout the state.

Therefore, he urged other MPs to back the proposal, emphasizing that graduation ceremonies would be prohibited in order to maintain peace and order.

Representing the Katsina constituency, Aliyu Abubakar-Albaba backed the motion and urged the government to address the growing issue of phone stealing immediately.

He asserted that because the threat had spread and could get out of control if left unchecked, quick action was required to stop it.

The house unanimously approved the measures following discussions, emphasizing the urgency of prompt action to protect citizens throughout the state.

The deputy speaker instructed the clerk to forward the house resolutions to the executive branch so that the appropriate action could be taken.

In the same plenary, the house also demanded that Ibrahim Ishaq, the State Universal Basic Education Board’s permanent member “I,” be fired.

The resolution came when Shamsuddeen Abubakar-Dabai, the house leader, filed a motion of urgent public significance.

Ishaq allegedly made an unguarded statement about the assembly during a public function, according to Mr. Abubakar-Dabai, which prompted the call.

He mentioned that Ishaq was previously asked to clarify the claims by the assembly, and he allegedly acknowledged saying them.

In light of the severity of the wrongdoing and legal provisions, the house recommended the executive to remove Ishaq from his position.

After the resolution was adopted, the deputy speaker instructed the clerk to send it to the executive branch for any necessary implementation.
