Eze Chika Nwokedi Bags BAAF Humanitarian Awards at the Launch of Mo’feed Project in Lagos

… as the Ndigbo Buru’otu Association also awards High Chief Sunday Eze.

By Naomi Onome

Bella Amor Global Aid Foundation, in collaboration with the presidency, through the office of the Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on school feeding, launched its nationwide Renewed Hope Mo’feed project on Wednesday, October 1st, 2025, at Festival Hotel in Lagos.

The Official Launch of the Renewed Hope Mo’Feed Project, Fundraising Gala & Humanitarian Award Night, which saw over 1000 guests in attendance, is designed to meet the essential need of school children with the aim to cushion hunger and empower families through the school feeding initiative by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. This initiative has expanded to building partnerships with sister bodies such as NGOs and individuals ready to partake in doing corporate social responsibilities to cater for vulnerable school children and women.

However, Eze Chika Nwokedi, Ezendigbo Ijegun Ijeododo, Chairman of the Council of Ndi Eze Igbo Lagos, and Founder/President of the Ndi Igbo Buru’otu Association of Nigeria, was one of the many award recipients at the BAAF Fundraising and Humanitarian Award Night for his philanthropic activities in Lagos and other parts of the nation.

Moreover, due to some unforeseen circumstances, Eze Chika Nwokedi, who couldn’t attend the main event held on October 1st, 2025, was still granted a special recognition by the coordinating body of the Bella Amor Global Aid Foundation at the October meeting of the Ndi Igbo Buru’otu Association of Nigeria with members, executives and other guests in attendance.

The award’s inscription reads,

In recognition of his exemplary leadership, cultural preservation, and unwavering commitment to peace and humanitarian service. As Eze Okpoko I of Obodoukwu and Chairman of the Council of Ndi Eze Igbo in Lagos State, he has demonstrated wisdom, vision, and dedication in uniting people, promoting Igbo heritage, and advancing socio-economic development. His leadership at Ladipo Market and through the Ndi Igbo Buru Otu Association of Nigeria has strengthened communities, empowered generations, and fostered harmony across cultural and social divides. This honour is bestowed as a testament to his enduring legacy as a royal father, cultural advocate, and humanitarian leader, reflecting the values of dignity, compassion, and service upheld by the Bella Amor Global Aid Foundation.

In appreciation, Eze Chika Nwokedi thanked the President of Bella Amor Global Aid Foundation, Mirabel Etuk and co-coordinators for counting him worthy to be one of the award recipients. He noted that the initiative Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in collaboration with Mo’feed project by BAAF is a timely intervention especially for the less privileged in the society. He advised sustainability of the initiative as he promises to show support in the future activities of BAAF.

At the meeting, High Chief Sunday Eze was also honoured by the Ndigbo Buru’otu Association of Nigeria for restoring peace in the Igbo-speaking community of Lagos. It should be recalled that High Chief Sunday Eze stepped down for Chief Sunday Udeh to take over as President General of the Igbo-speaking community after a rivalry that lasted for years. The big step taken to end the rivalry by stepping down has accorded Chief Sunday Eze admiration from all and sundry in reassurance that the Igbos are one.
