The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has taken a tough stance against teams whose ball boys waste time during games, fining any team found to be at fault a million naira.
In a circular sent to all participating clubs, the league’s chief operating officer, Davidson Owumi, revealed this information, emphasizing that the act violates fair play principles and damages the league’s reputation.
“As such behavior is against fair play and brings the game to disrepute, any team found wanting and encouraging this will be sanctioned with a fine of One Million Naira,” the statement said.
Owumi cautioned that the NPFL will maintain professionalism and integrity throughout the season and called the act misbehavior in accordance with the league’s regulations.
