Peter Obi, a former presidential candidate for the Labour Party, has accused Nigeria’s federal administration of making decisions that left many unresolved issues.

In a post on Saturday on his 𝕏 account, the former governor of Anambra State said that there are differences in laws enacted by the legislature and what the executive finally declared as law.
He bemoaned the fact that the government has progressed beyond merely padding the budget to creating legislation as a result of recent events.
Obi specifically stated that additional enforcement and coercive powers that were never approved by the House of Representatives are being introduced by the administration.
Naija News recognizes Obi’s remarks came amid accusations made by Abdulsammad Dasuki, a member of the House of Representatives, regarding differences between tax regulations passed by the National Assembly and those formally issued by the executive branch.
The former presidential candidate emphasized that Nigerians must comprehend what was signed, passed, and officially documented. He also stated that the government cannot keep requesting more taxes from the populace when public confidence in governance is eroding.
“The decisions made by our leaders, even at the highest levels of government, continue to unfold our national shame,” he wrote.
