While providing complimentary meals for homeless people in Lagos, Nollywood actress Sarah Martins claim she was attacked by uniformed police officers.
In an Instagram post, the actress described how she was challenged by cops who she thought were from the Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) task force as she was conducting community outreach.
According to Sarah, the officers interrupted the charity event, harassed her, and confiscated her food supplies and cooking equipment.
She shared a video of her damaged hand on social media as well, expressing shock and pain over what she said was an unprovoked attack.
She wrote in her post, “My heart hurts. Like I always do, I was preparing free food for the destitute and defenseless on Lagos’ streets today when some men in uniform showed up, harassed me, and forced me to give over the food I was preparing, my cooking gas, and everything else I was using.
“I only committed the sin of putting love on a plate by preparing nutritious meals.” I do not work as a chef, nor am I a chef by trade.
In order to help those in need, the actress made it clear that her outreach was an act of genuine kindness.
In addition, she urged the appropriate authorities to look into the matter and make sure justice is done, emphasizing that her goals were just to aid the homeless and foster compassion in the neighborhood.
