The Adamawa State House of Assembly has passed a bill for a law to establish a college of entrepreneurship and related disciplines in the Madagali Local Government Area headquarters, Gulak.
The Adamawa State College of Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Studies Gulak, would be the only one of its kind in the state if finally established, and will be expected to impart technological, innovation and entrepreneurship training to students from across the state.
Gulak lies near the extreme northern borders of Adamawa State, about 244 kilometres from the state capital, Yola.
The passage of the bill on Monday followed the consideration of a report of the House Committee on Education earlier presented by the commitee Chairman and member representing Uba/Gaya constituency, Adum Alaba.
A motion for the 3rd reading of the bill was sponsored by the Majority Leader and Member representing Demsa Constituency, Kate Mamuno and was seconded by the member representing Michika constituency, Moses Zah.
After the third reading of the bill, Speaker Bathiya Wesley directed the clerk to prepare a clean copy for the attention of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri.
Speaking on the bill, the member representing Madagali constituency, Haruna Jilantikiri, commended Governor Ahmadu Fintiri for sponsoring it and thanked his colleagues for their support in passing it.
