Ahead of the general elections in 2027, the African Democratic Congress, or ADC, has issued a warning to its members who continue to support other political parties: step down.

This claim was made by Bolaji Abdullahi, the party’s national publicity secretary, to reporters in Abuja on Thursday following a caucus meeting that was attended by prominent political personalities and party leaders.

“The caucus was silent on the timeline, despite the fact that all members have been given a final order to resign their membership in other political parties,” Abdullahi stated.

Additionally, the caucus declared that all matters pertaining to the African Democratic Association, or ADA, had been resolved.

Everything pertaining to the ADA has been put on hold by the Coalition. This indicates that they have no interest in the association’s registration or otherwise,” he continued.

According to the party’s spokesperson, the ADC’s presidential candidates have decided to support the primary victor for the 2027 contest.

“Every presidential candidate has committed to backing the winner of the primary,” he said.

He added that in front of the off-cycle governorship elections in both Osun and Ekiti, the National Working Committee, or NWC, would shortly announce the dates of the primaries in those states.

National Secretary Ogbeni Rauf, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Kaduna State Governor Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, former Sokoto State Governor Senator Aminu Tambuwal, and former Rivers State Governor Chibuike Amaechi were among those in attendance, along with National Chairman David Mark.

Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s national leader, apologized for his absence and reaffirmed his dedication to the partnership.
