The arrest of one of the church’s pastors overseas has been bemoaned by Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.
According to him, the preacher was taken into custody for calling the audience members at a program “Ladies and gentlemen.”
He said that the phrase was discriminatory since it failed to include all of the genders that their culture recognized.
At Sunday’s monthly thanksgiving ceremony at the RCCG’s Throne of Grace in Lagos State, the pastor announced this.
His speech, titled “My father’s house,” was aired to every parish in the church.
“You underestimate how close the end is. This is a warning that things are get worse. One of my overseas pastors was imprisoned for merely referring to a group of people as “ladies and gentlemen.”
‘What about those who are neither women nor gentlemen?’ asked some who accused him of discrimination, he said.
The pastor also shared another unsettling tale about a woman who called her dog her husband.
He related how, in response to a question concerning her husband, the woman said, “I took him to the vet before coming.” “He doesn’t talk,” she said, calling her “husband” a dog.
Adeboye expressed concern that moral principles are being undermined globally and that these acts are a portent of the end times.
“Take this carefully, you who are already in Christ. Don’t let anyone make you less strong. God is pure. Jesus is returning, so those who continue to play church—singing, applauding, and having fun without any real commitment—remember. It’s important to avoid giving the devil the chance to harvest you. I’d like to see you at my dad’s house,” he wrote.

Adeboye, who is well-known for discussing national issues and church affairs, particularly the integration of foreign cultures into its branches worldwide, recently criticized ladies wearing excessive makeup and fake eyelashes and males with braided hair.
Adeboye expressed his displeasure with the tendency among church personnel and made it plain that RCCG altars will no longer accept such styles.
He expressed his shock at the growing popularity of these fashion choices among churchgoers in remarks made during the 72nd annual convention of the church, which was held in August.
The Redemption City in Mowe, Ogun State (Lagos-Ibadan Way) hosted this conference with the theme “Heaven” from Monday, August 5, to Sunday, August 11, 2024.
