According to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, President Bola Tinubu took over last year to an economy in a state of coma.

“We should encourage President Tinubu to change the situation because he stated that he was determined to do so despite the extremely poor conditions he faced on the ground, and no one envied him,” he said.
“We think that we will ultimately advance the nation. He has already done it in Lagos and will do it again in Nigeria; if you give him some time, he will show us our El Dorado.

“I want everyone to know that when Tinubu was elected president, Nigeria was on life support. I once asked him, “Mr. President, are you excited about taking over as president and witnessing the extent of the economy that Emefiele left behind?” Well, I’m committed to make things better, he said.
Akpabio further mentioned that the president has impacted the lives of many people through constituency initiatives nationwide, and that the regional commissions established nationwide were meant to empower the populace and improve the regions.
As he explained that all other regional development commissions would be signed soon, he added that President Tinubu had demonstrated his love for the South East by giving them a key ministry—the Ministry of Works—and by enacting legislation establishing the South East Development Commission.
According to him, the president has demonstrated his affection for the South East by signing the South East Development Commission into law and allocating important ministries based on needs rather than votes. The president chooses to grant us the Ministry of Works in addition to other important Ministries, like the Ministry of Petroleum and Gas, despite the fact that the South East has many ecological issues and extremely bad roads, much like the South South.From Utapete to Ibeno, Akwa Ibom is at the mercy of gas. He said he will repay Governor Umo Eno for his goodwill at Christmas, when he sent 1,000 sacks of rice to the state’s APC, and commended the governor for his calm manner.

He claimed that he gave the order for 1,500 sacks of rice to be sent right away to the PDP, where the chairman would then distribute the supplies to the party’s members.
