Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has received praise from Elvis Akpobi, Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Youth Mentoring and Development, for putting youth empowerment first and completing significant infrastructure projects throughout the state.
In a statement, he praised Governor Oborevwori’s dedication to the MORE Agenda’s infrastructure development and youth empowerment initiatives throughout Delta State.
He claims that by bringing leadership into line with the improvement of lives and communities, Governor Oborevwori is continuously increasing the standard in both youth-focused government and physical development.
“Building people is the goal of the governor’s government style, not merely building roads. “He is continuously delivering growth in infrastructure,” he continued.
He cited important initiatives like D-CARES, which has given over 5,000 entrepreneurs more confidence, as a direct answer to the financial demands of the state’s youth.
He also cited the Governor’s ongoing investment in mentorship programs, company incubation, and ICT training as components of his strategy for fostering an environment that supports young people’s growth.
“The Governor’s belief that access transforms everything is demonstrated in practice through the D-CARES initiative and other empowerment programs,” Akpobi stated. “The youth are being positioned not only to survive but also to lead in various spheres through access to tools, skills, and platforms.”
Akpobi went on to highlight the administration’s outstanding initiative, the Overseas Leadership and Mentorship Training, which has given more than 60 young Delta State leaders international experience.
By interacting with international governance models and innovation systems, these young Deltans have equipped themselves to make significant contributions not only in their local communities but also on a continental and international scale.
“It is a bold step to provide our young people with access to mentorship and global education. It guarantees they have the mentality and global perspective required to succeed in the modern world, in addition to the technical abilities necessary to do so,” he stated.
In the statement, he restated Governor Oborevwori’s core conviction that “communities will grow and crime will decrease if we give our youths access.”

Akpobi went on to call Governor Oborevwori’s management style a “new model”—one that views infrastructure as a tool for maximizing human potential rather than just as physical structures.
According to him, this method of development is inclusive and people-centered, encouraging young engagement and responsibility in addition to progress.
He was hopeful that Delta State would remain a model for inclusive growth in Nigeria under the governor’s persistent leadership.
