Alex Iwobi, a midfielder for the Super Eagles, has expressed regret and acknowledged that he was given a late red card during Nigeria’s 2-2 friendly match with Jordan on March 31.
When Amer Jamous held Iwobi back during the match in Turkey, Iwobi became enraged and was sent off.
The former Arsenal player took responsibility for the incident in an interview with the Alexander Yaa Digg podcast.
“I must take responsibility for my actions and offer an apology to all of my Nigerian colleagues, employees, and supporters of Nigeria. Iwobi said, “I was sent off because my actions were not good enough.
However, I shall take this as a lesson and continue on. We will focus on the good aspects of the draw because we didn’t lose.
“I want to apologize for the mistake,” the Fulham star continued.
