A commission to reorganize the mandates and oversight of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in the State Civil Service has been established by the governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia.
He claimed that it is a component of his administration’s initiatives to boost systemic efficiency and enhance service delivery.
The Governor assigned the committee to examine the mandates of current MDAs, including ministries, bureaus, commissions, and government-owned businesses, and suggest suitable alignments for efficient oversight during the event held yesterday at Government House in Makurdi.
In addition to identifying and resolving duplicate functions within the system, the committee led by Deputy Governor Barr. Sam Ode will look at the roles of political appointments such Special Advisers and Assistants.
“I implore you to treat this work with the utmost seriousness. He clarified, “This idea aims to strengthen institutional values, restore standard operating procedures, and improve personnel quality for optimal performance in the civil service.”
He guaranteed the committee of the government’s assistance and referred to the task as a call to service.

The group, which is made up of a few notable indigenous people from the state, is anticipated to present its findings for government consideration within two months, according to a statement made on Tuesday by Sir Tersoo Kula, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor.
