The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s 2023 presidential contender, Atiku Abubakar, has been warned by former Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) chairman Sam Amadi to refrain from behaving like a king.
He asked Atiku to follow in the footsteps of Peter Obi, his Labour Party (LP) colleague.
Atiku needs to get over his excessive “royalty” and act like a professional or business leader, according to Amadi.

Nigeria is not a “emirate or a kingdom,” according to Amadi, who also serves as the director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts. He cautioned Atiku from behaving like an emir, Ooni, or Obi in his remarks via his 𝕏 account.

According to the former head of NERC, Atiku is not so horrible and might be president.
Atiku might be president, he declared. He isn’t all that horrible. He must, however, address the issue of excessive “royalty.” He ought to follow @PeterObi’s lead.

“Avoid acting like an Emir, Ooni, or Obi and instead act like a professional or business leader. Nigeria does not qualify as a monarchy or an emirate.

As for the 2027 presidential election, Amadi has said that if Peter Obi, the former Labour Party presidential candidate, is not included in the opposition coalition, then no one can unseat President Bola Tinubu.

Prior to the 2027 elections, Amadi’s remarks coincide with rumors that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has extended an offer to Peter Obi for the vice presidential position under a single-term coalition ticket.

Although Obi has insisted that his only goal is to form a coalition to solve problems like poverty, hunger, and the declining quality of healthcare and education in Nigeria, Amadi’s comments highlight Obi’s pivotal role in any possible attempt to unseat Tinubu.

The director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts, Amadi, reaffirmed Tuesday on 𝕏 (formerly Twitter) that Peter Obi is essential to any candidate aiming to take on Tinubu in 2027.

He declared, “The fact is that nobody can defeat Tinubu without @PeterObi.” It is up to you to determine what this truth suggests. This explains the violence and despair on this street.
“With respect and deep good faith, the circle can be squared,” Amadi added, underscoring the significance of solidarity and regard for one another in any political partnership.
