According to Rotimi Amaechi, the former minister of transportation, he was forced to leave the All Progressives Congress (APC) because of the party’s failure to give Nigerians hope for a better future.
As was previously mentioned, Amaechi had insisted that the APC was no longer in existence and declared that he was no longer a member of the ruling party.
In his letter of resignation dated July 1, 2025, to the APC Chairman in Ward 8, Ubima, Ikwerre Local Government Area, Rivers State, the former governor characterized the APC as a party of failure, suffering, and agony that lacks compassion for the general public.
Amaechi says he also decided to leave the party because he was determined to work with other patriotic Nigerians “to rescue our dear nation from the fangs of failure, pain and anguish which the All Progressives Congress now symbolizes.”

“After a wide range of consultations, I am convinced that this is the appropriate moment to call it quits,” he continued. “The party has strayed from the lofty ideals that gave rise to its formation and can no longer inspire hopes in Nigeria for a greater future.” In order to embark on a new journey towards Nigeria’s liberation, I have decided to team up with well-meaning fellow citizens.
One of the leaders of the opposition alliance established in 2027 to overthrow President Bola Tinubu’s current administration is Amaechi.
