Annie, a Nollywood actress and the estranged wife of Nigerian music icon Innocent “2Baba” Idibia, formally announced their divorce at Sunday night’s 17th Headies Awards.
As she co-presented the Best Afrobeat Singer of the Year award, the actress, who had been silent on the matter for months, reportedly spoke up.
Farooq Oreagba, who is renowned as the “King of Steeze” after his legendary performance at the 2024 Ojude Oba festival, shared the stage with her.
Annie briefly paused when stating her name during her introduction, then promptly changed it to reflect her new status.

“Annie Idi… Aw! Annie Macaulay, I apologize. Ladies without partners, hello! She said, to raucous applause and cheers from the audience.
Following indications earlier in the year, Annie reappeared on social media in March, almost two months after 2Baba declared their split, signing off with her full name, Annie Uwana Macaulay, noticeably excluding the Idibia last name. This public confirmation follows those suggestions.
In January 2025, after 2Baba announced their separation, the ex-couple, who have two children together, formally called it quits on their marriage.
Ever after the split, 2Baba has moved on and made a proposal to Natasha Osawaru, a legislator from Edo State. A lot of people are speculating about an impending wedding because he has also introduced her to his family and Benue State community.
