Michael Aondoakaa, a former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, has stated that neither Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia nor Secretary to the Government of the Federation SGF George Akume had anything to do with his choice to rejoin the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Aondoakaa reportedly stated this during an interview on Arise Television’s “Morning Show” on Wednesday.
Aondoakaa emphasized that his desire to better Benue is the driving force behind his defection to the PDP, which he called as a “homecoming.”
He further explained his objective by saying that he wanted to use the extra money from President Tinubu’s reforms to enhance rural regions, supply food and shelter, and make sure that Benue State achieved all 17 of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
The previous AGF stated that he would accomplish this by upholding all state laws, particularly the one prohibiting grazing.
“My decision to join the PDP is unrelated to Governor Alia SGF Akume,” he declared. I served as the PDP government’s attorney general. It feels like I’m returning home to follow my own goals and aspirations after being promoted to Attorney General and Minister of Justice.
“I hope to implement my programs in a different manner. My approach is to ensure that the funds that are now coming into the state are used to develop rural communities.
“By doing this, I will have the chance to activate all state and federal laws that are pertinent to the protection of people’s lives and property in Benue State.”
