Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has urged Plateau State citizens to unite in order to combat insecurity in the state.
In response to recent attacks in which bandits killed a number of people, including soldiers and vigilante officers, Yilwatda issued the warning during a visit to Kanam Local Government Area on Sunday. He urged locals to take part in bolstering security measures in their communities so that everyone stays safe and fearless.
The APC Chairman consoled with the attack victims and offered his sincere condolences to the impacted families and the entire emirate, emphasizing that he stands in solidarity with the people during this trying time. He also paid a visit to Alh. Muhammadu Mu’azu Muhammadu, the Emir of Kanam, at his palace.
At a moment like this, Yilwada said, his thoughts were firmly with the impacted families and he stood in solidarity with the entire Emirate, praying for the quick restoration of peace, harmony, and stability across Kanam as well as consolation for those who had experienced losses.
“The Kanam people’s unwavering courage, unity, and resilience in the face of adversity remain what remains most inspiring,” he said.
These attributes serve as a potent reminder that hope and teamwork can triumph even under trying circumstances.
Therefore, he continued, “it is incumbent on all of us, leaders and citizens alike, to renew our commitment to fostering peace, strengthening security, and building a future where every community can thrive without fear.”
