For individuals who wish to run in the 2025 bye-elections, the cost of the forms has been set by the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The party’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, signed the schedule, which was made public on Monday. It states that candidates for Senate seats will pay a total of ₦20 million, while those running for House of Representatives seats will pay ₦10 million.
The Senate requires ₦3 million for the Expression of Interest Form and ₦17 million for the Nomination Form.
The Expression of Interest costs ₦1 million, and the Nomination Form costs ₦9 million, for those running for the House of Representatives.
A total of ₦2 million will be required if you want to run for the State House of Assembly; that amount is made up of ₦1.5 million for nomination and ₦500,000 for expression of interest.
According to the APC, women and people with disabilities will just need to purchase the Expression of Interest Form. They will not be charged for the Nomination Form.
Additionally, there will be a 50% reduction in the Nomination Form fee for young people aged 25 to 40.
Voting in the party primaries requires delegates to be financially enrolled members who have paid at least three months’ dues, which is ₦200 each month. There is a ₦5,000 fee for the delegate forms.
Members who have paid their dues for a minimum of one year until July 2025 and whose names are on the membership record will be the only ones who may vote or run for office, Argungu also reminded them.
