Former President Muhammadu Buhari has received praise from the All Progressives Congress (APC) for his devotion to the ruling party.
Recall that Buhari recently reaffirmed his unwavering allegiance to the ruling APC. He said this just hours after Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, revealed that the former president had approved of his decision to leave the APC for the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
The APC praised Buhari for promptly clearing the air and distancing himself from attempts by some persons to implicitly link him to their political decisions in a statement released on Saturday by Felix Morka, its National Publicity Secretary.
The statement read: “For his strong reaffirmation of loyalty to our great party, former President Muhammadu Buhari is greeted and commended by the All Progressives Congress (APC).”

“I am an APC member, and I like to be addressed as such,” the former president said in a statement released on Thursday, March 13, 2025. I’ll do all in my power to make the party more popular.
“We commend former President Buhari for promptly resolving the issue and distancing himself from attempts by some persons to implicitly link him to their unpopular political decisions.
“The former President’s image as a wise and dignified elder statesman has been further strengthened by his unwavering devotion to our great party, the platform upon which he was elected twice as President.
“We called on our thronging members to follow President Buhari’s admirable example of devotion and dedication to our wonderful party.”
