In the early hours of the morning, armed bandits attacked Maradawa village in Rijiya District, Gusau Local Government Area, Zamfara State, capturing five worshippers and injuring one.
Zagazola Makama, an expert in counterinsurgency, revealed this in a post on X Friday.
The attack happened on Thursday while locals were praying Subhi (dawn), according to the report.
The thugs allegedly opened fire on the worshippers, hurting one before capturing five others and taking them to an unidentified location, Makama revealed.
After troops arrived on the scene, the wounded person was sent to a hospital for medical attention.
Soldiers have been sent to the scene and are pursuing the assailants in an effort to save the lives and return things to normal.
