Bandits have set another victim on fire in Katsina State’s Fasakari Local Government Area, two weeks after the outrage over the burning alive of passengers in Sokoto State.
According to Shehu Dalhatu Tafoki, Deputy Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly and member of the Faskari constituency, the victim was burned alive in his car.
He stated that this was one of four attacks in the area in the previous week.
Other people were killed, and others were kidnapped, according to the lawmaker.

“They attacked Kwakware Village and kidnapped 17 people, the majority of whom were women.” The next day, they stopped a driver, killed him, and set his car on fire.
“On Tuesday, they killed seven people and kidnapped five, and the attacks took place just a few hundred yards from a military checkpoint,” he said.
Residents of communities along the Funtua-Sheme Road in Katsina State blocked the Funtua-Gusau Road on Wednesday in protest of the recent attacks.
Governor Bello Masari recently led a delegation of elders to President Muhammadu Buhari to protest the state’s killings.
Commuters were stranded as a result of the protest, according to Imam Abubakar, a traveller.
SP Gambo Isah, the Katsina police spokesman, did not return calls or a text message sent to him.
On the same day, bandits kidnapped dozens of people along the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari highway after attacking a convoy of 20 vehicles that was escorted by police.
The incident occurred around 11 a.m., and while the details of the incident are sketchy, it was learned that the majority of the victims were traders on their way to Kano.

Four of his neighbors were abducted, according to Muhammadu Umaru, a community leader.
“In the convoy that was attacked between Udawa and Buruku along the highway, we have about 70 of our traders from Udawa town alone, and there are others from neighboring towns.”
“My neighbors were involved because we dialed their numbers and a bandit answered,” he explained.
Some of the traders who fled into the bush reportedly called their relatives to inform them of the situation.
ASP Jalige Mohammed, the state police spokesman, promised to comment on the incident after gathering more information.
Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, the Emir of Zazzau, had earlier on Wednesday enjoined all Imams and pastors in the emirate to begin special prayers for the restoration of peace and stability in the region and throughout the country.

Bandit attacks have been occurring in Kaduna for some time, and the state governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has stated that his administration’s goal is to eliminate all bandits.
He said this after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday to discuss the recent attack in the state that claimed 40 lives.
