Bandits attacked Magaji Wando community in Katsina State on Friday night, leaving several people dead, others injured, and many abducted.
The attack was revealed in a post shared by a security analyst, Bakatsine, on X on Saturday.
According to the post, the armed men stormed the community late in the night.
“Yesterday night, bandits stormed Magaji Wando community in Katsina State, killing, injuring and abducting several residents.
“After bandits attacked Magaji Wando, they ambushed the Civilian Watch Committee (CWC) team that was evacuating injured residents. The attackers set their vehicle and another car on fire. Tragically, all the wounded residents being evacuated were killed in the assault,” Bakatsine wrote.
Similarly, bandits on Friday launched an attack on Jabiri community in Katsina State, abducting a young man and rustling cattle.
According to him, the troops engaged the armed men in a gun battle, forcing them to retreat. The heavy rainfall that followed also disrupted the attackers and aided the security response.
Despite the swift action, the attackers managed to escape with the abducted youth and stolen livestock.
