The creation of new statutory bodies has been approved by Benue State Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia as part of his administration’s initiatives to improve institutional effectiveness and encourage sustainable development throughout the state.
The Public Procurement Commission and the Benue State University Teaching Hospital are two of the recently reorganized bodies.
Dr. Stephen Hwande is the Chief Medical Director at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital, while Prof. Malu Orkurga Abraham has been named Chairman.
Along with representatives from the medical community, the Provost of the College of Health Sciences, the Chairman of the Medical Advisory Council, and a representative of the Vice Chancellor, the other members include Mr. Terhemba Ingyomon, Dr. Emmanuel Orhemba Baki, and Rt. Hon. Frank Adejor Audu.
Dr. Aper Emmanuel Zava will be the Director General of the Public Procurement Commission, which will be chaired by the Executive Governor. The commission also includes commissioners and the deputy governor.
Governor Alia asked the recently appointed officials to carry out their duties with professionalism, dedication, and a depth of expertise.
He urged them to coordinate their efforts with the “A Strategic Development Plan for a Greater Benue,” the plan of his government that summarizes his seven-point program under the abbreviation SACHIIP.
