Arman Dabiri, an American lawyer, has been appointed by Simon Ekpa, the prime minister of the Biafra Government in Exile (BRGIE), to support the country’s independence movement.
In a statement posted on his official X feed on Saturday, Ekpa made this clear.
He claimed that the realization of Biafra’s self-rule and its worldwide recognition will be greatly aided by Dabiri’s experience.
The legal expert will advise the BRGIE on obtaining U.S. recognition of Biafra’s proclamation of independence, the Prime Minister said.

The Biafra administration is pleased to inform the Biafra people that Arman Dabiri, a very large Iroko, has joined our international legal team in anticipation of the announcement of the restoration of independence for the United States of Biafra and the pursuit of recognition.
“While other international lawyers continue their work in their various assignments, Arman will concentrate on advising the Biafra Government on US recognition,” Ekpa said.
This action comes after Ekpa’s December 2, 2024, proclamation of Biafra’s independence.
