The controversial cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye Olanrewaju aka Bobrisky was conspicuously absent when social media activist, Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, appeared before the House of Representatives committee on Monday.
The parliament is investigating allegations of bribery leveled against operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigerian Correctional Services (NCS) by Bobrisky.
Bobrisky, who was convicted for the abuse of naira in April, had in a video released by VDM alleged the EFCC operatives demanded N15 million to drop the money laundering charges against him.
In the same video, the cross-dresser claimed that some officials of the Nigerian Correctional Services (NCoS) allowed him to serve his jail term in a private residence instead of a correctional centre after money changed hands.
Due to the weighty nature of the allegations, the House of Representatives last Thursday resolved to investigate the matter that involved two agencies and invited all parties to appear before a joint committee on Monday.
While VDM and his team presented themselves, Bobrisky was not seen at the NASS complex for the hearing conducted by the House Committees on Financial Crimes and Reformatory Institutions.
However, his lawyer appeared on his behalf.
