In a horrific video, suspected Boko Haram militants parade 176 kidnapped victims—including women, children, and a nursing mother—that they allegedly took from the Woro hamlet in Kwara State’s Kaiama Local Government Area.
In the video that SaharaReporters was able to obtain, the group—officially known as Jama’atu Ahlissunnah Lidda’awati wal-Jihad—was shown questioning the prisoners.
One of the terrorists in the video asked the hostages to identify the location of their kidnapping.
Three ladies, one of whom was a nursing mother, responded in Hausa that they had been kidnapped from the Woro community in the Kaiama Local Government Area.
Dozens of women and children can be seen in the video standing in rows, clearly upset. Some of the children were spotted without pants, indicating harsh and dehumanizing circumstances, and many more looked ill-dressed and in tattered clothing.
One of the terrorists claimed that the Kwara State Government had minimized the scope of the kidnapping while displaying the victims.
He asserted that 176 victims were in their hands at the time, but authorities said that between 20 and 30 people had been abducted.
The terrorist claimed in the video that the Kwara State government had deceived both Nigeria and the entire globe.
The Kwara State Government had not formally addressed the allegations in the video as of the time this article was filed.
The footage was taken after suspected terrorists allegedly carried out a concerted attack on the Woro community on February 4, 2026, which resulted in fatalities.
According to locals, the attack claimed the lives of scores of people, including the Emir’s relatives.
Two wives of the Emir of Woro, a number of his children, the community’s chief imam, a headmistress, a school principal, and pupils who had just gotten home from school were among those who were allegedly slaughtered.
