In the Northeast, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has stepped up its counterterrorism efforts, eliminating numerous terrorists and demolishing their hideouts in Borno State.
On Wednesday, September 17, at around 10:50 a.m., the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai (AC OPHK) carried out the precision strikes, according to a statement released Thursday by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, Headquarters, Nigerian Air Force.
According to Ejodame, intelligence and surveillance reports that verified strange movements at Bula Madibale in the Gezuwa general area were the basis for the airstrikes.
About 45 terrorists, some riding bicycles and motorcycles, had gathered at the scene, he disclosed, and two rebel flags had also been seen. Operation Hadin Kai’s Air Component initiated a coordinated air interdiction in response to this reliable intelligence.
“The attacks had a devastating effect, killing multiple terrorists at the meeting spot, and the flagged building and other hostile assets at the site were destroyed,” the statement said in part.
The action demonstrates the military’s determination to prevent terrorists from having the ability to reorganize, re-enforce, or launch other attacks on local communities, the NAF spokesperson continued.
He emphasized the military’s dedication to bringing stability and peace back, especially in the Northeast.
