During an intense midnight battle that lasted many hours, security troops of the Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI successfully repulsed coordinated terrorist attacks intended to overwhelm military posts in Konduga, Marte, Jakana, and Mainok.
Between 10:30 p.m. and 3:00 a.m., the assailants made simultaneous strikes, but the men resisted with tenacity and held their defensive positions.
The insurgents were disorganized and forced to retreat when reinforcement units used tactical flanking maneuvers.
