The Osun State House of Assembly members have endorsed Governor Ademola Adeleke for a second term in advance of the 2026 gubernatorial election, demonstrating their collective faith in him.
The Obokun State Constituency’s Adewumi Adeyemi made the motion for this vote of confidence, while Taofiq Olayiwola of the Ede South State Constituency backed it.
The 26-member Assembly, which is made up of 25 members from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and one from the All Progressives Congress (APC), reportedly showed their steadfast support for the governor during a plenary session on Tuesday.
Speaker Adewale Egbedun acknowledged the governor’s dedication to his five-point plan and his commitment to the progress of Osun State during the session, praising his achievements in honor of his 65th birthday.
The Speaker emphasized that the legislators, who speak for the people, are proud of the governor’s leadership and urged him to aim for even greater success.

In his sincere homage to the governor, Simeon Popoola, the lawmaker for the Boripe-Boluwaduro State Constituency, praised his honesty and sincerity.
“Politics aside,” he continued, “Mr. Governor is a straightforward, sincere, and kind individual. His performance has been substantially aided by these qualities.
The Speaker then asked for a vote, which was approved by the chamber.
