In the early hours of Monday, Nigeria Police and Department of State Security (DSS) security officers forcibly entered the Lagos State House of Assembly, essentially closing the offices of Speaker Mojisola Meranda, her deputy, and the assembly clerk.
It was discovered that by ten in the morning, armed guards had taken over the Alausa, Ikeja, property and were thoroughly inspecting everyone who passed.
At around 11:15 a.m., Lasbat Mojisola Meranda and her convoy arrived, according to Vanguard, the Speaker.
It is significant to remember that Mudashiru Obasa, the former Speaker who is currently dealing with legal issues, has filed a lawsuit against the state lawmakers demanding that he be removed from office.
In a motion filed with the State High Court’s Ikeja Division, Obasa reportedly asks for an expedited hearing for his case.
