On Thursday, Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo met with President Bola Tinubu behind closed doors at the State House.
It was revealed that Tinubu and Soludo had a private meeting following Soludo’s welcome after the President’s courtesy visit.
In a statement released on Friday, Chris Aburime, Governor Soludo’s chief press secretary, described Tinubu as his longtime friend of more than 22 years and stated that Tinubu welcomed his principal with excitement.
Additionally, Aburime mentioned that Tinubu congratulated Soludo on the results of the most recent Anambra State gubernatorial election.
“The President used the occasion to further congratulate Governor Soludo on his landslide victory in the recently concluded Anambra gubernatorial election,” he stated.
“Remember that Governor Soludo received a congratulatory message from President Tinubu as soon as the governorship election was over.”
Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) pronounced Governor Soludo the victor with 73% of the total votes.
In the meantime, Soludo presented a ₦757 billion budget proposal for the 2026 fiscal year to the Anambra State House of Assembly on Tuesday, November 25, stating that it represents a fresh effort to expedite his administration’s development plan.
The governor claimed that the budget, which is titled “Changing Gears 3.0: Solution Continues,” strengthens the implementation of the revolutionary agenda his government has been pursuing since its founding.
In keeping with his infrastructure-driven governing style, Soludo disclosed that the plan allots ₦595.3 billion for capital expenditures, or 79% of the overall budget amount.
The amount spent on recurring expenses is ₦161.6 billion, or 21% of the total budget.
The governor said that there is a ₦225.7 billion deficit in the expenditure plan, which will be covered by a combination of better IGR, concessions, public-private partnerships, and financial institution support.
