The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has formally announced the resignation of Plateau State Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang.
According to sources, on December 29, 2025, he addressed a letter to the Ward Chairman of Ampang West Ward in the Mangu Local Government Area announcing his resignation.
The governor stated that better service delivery, targeted leadership, and clear direction were necessary.
Governor Mutfwang declared that he would be leaving his position immediately.
The letter expressed gratitude to the party for giving him the chance to work within the democratic system and was acknowledged by the ward leadership a day later.
Thanking party leaders and supporters for their support over the years, Mutfwang stated that his choice was required due to current political conditions.
The governor stated, “I am forced to look for an alternative platform given the realities of the moment and guided by my commitment to purposeful leadership, clarity of direction, and service delivery.”
According to reports, Mutfwang will now formally join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) following his resignation.
Remember when Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, the APC’s National Chairman, recently said that Mutfwang had joined the ruling party?
