According to Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Nigeria will suffer greatly if Burkina Faso, Mali, and the Niger Republic do not return to democratic governance.
According to reports, a military coup has placed the three West African nations under military administration for the past few years.
Musa claimed that Nigeria would be directly impacted by the three nations’ lack of leadership in an interview on the Arise Television show “Prime Time.”
Mali, Burkina Faso, and the Niger Republic need a democratic structure that can help them make decisions that will benefit their nations, according to the CDS.

“Like I mentioned, we have problems with poverty in West Africa, a lot of governance issues, and challenges with Burkina Faso, Mali, and the Niger Republic,” he stated. They are suffering greatly because of the size of the regions, the high rate of poverty there, the fact that climate change is a significant problem there, and the lack of political will that is producing these problems.
And they are the things that are attempting to enter Nigeria. It will be difficult no matter how hard we try as long as these factors persist.
“The fact is that these three countries in particular need to have good leadership before they can do significant things. Therefore, if they make a mistake, we Nigerians stand to lose a great deal; therefore, they need a democratic structure that can enable them make judgments that would benefit the nation.
