Cleric Remanded In Prison For Defrauding Church Member Of Landed Property.

The General Overseer of Greater Glory Tabernacle, located at No. 26 Afurugbin off Ijegemo Road, Ijegun area of Lagos, Prophetess Ngozi Okoye has been remanded in prison custody following a fraud scandal reported by a complainant, Church member Mrs Buchi Ejiofor who was defrauded of her property located at Ijegun Area of Lagos. Prophetess Ngozi sold the landed property without member’s signature on the deed of agreement to four other persons who happens to be members of her ministry.
The case was treated by the zone 2 command in Onikan by ASP. Jimith Josaphe with so much expertise and professional efficiency to give Mrs Ejiofor justice and total recovery of her assets and properties. An agreement was reached for a refund but Prophetess Ngozi failed on the agreement and still took inappropriate measures to escape from a refund or release of properties.
After so much warnings and time given to reach a truce between the two parties by HRH Eze Chika Nwokedi and the officer in charge of the case at Zone 2 Command Lagos, Mrs Buchi Ejiofor exhausted all patience to wait as the accused Prophetess Ngozi showed no form of interest or effort for a refund which led to a court charge.
Prophetess Ngozi was remanded in Kirikiri Maximum prison on a six count charge and it reads:
Count I:That You Ngozi Okoye ‘f’ and others at large sometime in July, 2018 at No. 9, Taiwo Oladeran Street, ljegun, Lagos in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conspire amongst yourselves to commit felony to wit, conspiracy to defraud, stealing and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 325 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.
COUNT II: That you Ngozi Okoye ‘f’ and others at large on the same date, time and place in the Lagos Magisterial District, did fraudulently steal the sum of six million five hundred thousand naira (N6,500,000) property of one Buchi Ejiofor f with the pretence of buying a property located at No. 6, Jesutedo Street Ijegun knowing fully well that the property worth N5,000,000 and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 314 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.
COUNT III: That you Ngozi Okoye ‘f’ on the same date, time and place in the aforesaid Magisterial District, did fraudulently receive the sum of N6,500,000 from one buchi Ejiorfoh to buy a property for her located at No. 5, Jesutedo Street, Off Community Road, Ijegun Lagos comprising a room self-contain, five rooms attached a store and a borehole which you fraudulently converted to your personal use by collecting rent from the tenant and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 348 of the Criminal law of Lagos State Of Nigeria, 2015.

COUNT IV: That you Ngozi Okoye ‘f’ and others at large on the same date, time and place in the aforesaid Magisterial District, did fraudulently disposed off a trusted property with the intent to defraud the owner one Buchi Ejiorfoh and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 334(1) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.
COUNT V: That you Ngozi Okoye ‘f’ and others at large on the same date, time and place in the aforesaid Magisterial District, did makes false document of two deed of sale and purchase agreement between one Alhaji Shoyeju the seller and Pastor and Mrs. Ejiorfoh the buyer for the same property located at No. 6, Jesutedo Street, Ijegun Lagos and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 365 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.
COUNT VI: That you Ngozi Okoye ‘f’ on the same date, time and place in the aforesaid Magisterial District, did conduct yourself in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace by depriving one Buchi Ejiorfoh to take possession of one plot of land with one room self-contain, five rooms attached, one store in the front and borehole therein at No. 6, Jesutedo Street, off community road, Ijegun Lagos State, having bought the property on her behalf and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 168(d) of the
Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.
Prophetess Ngozi was arraigned on Thursday, 15th Dec., 2022 at the Magistrate court in Ebute Metta, court 14. She pleaded not guilty to the charge laid, and was granted a bail of N500,000 with 2 sureties who must possess tax clearance as well as a verified address of residence. The case was adjourned to the 26th of January 2023 for a fair hearing.
