Coalition Attack: APC, PDP Slam ADC Over 2027 Plan Against Tinubu

On Tuesday, the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) attacked the African Democratic Party (ADC) for remarks on how it will overthrow President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

Bolaji Abdullahi, the party’s interim national publicity secretary, publicly attacked the ADC on national television without cause, while the APC informed the ADC and other opposition parties that they would not be able to overthrow President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 election.

Under the auspices of the APC League of Professionals, APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda addressed hundreds of party members and gave a forceful warning to the ADC, stating that there is no chance of President Tinubu being removed in 2027.

APC League of Professionals visited the party’s national secretariat in Abuja on Tuesday as part of a solidarity visit.

Yilwatda explained the progress made under President Tinubu thus far and promised that the party will secure the success of all of its candidates running for governorships, national, and state assemblies seats around the nation.

He is the link between the young and the old, Yilwatda said, revealing the empowerment initiatives being carried out by the administration of President Tinubu that have had a beneficial effect on the populace.

“The child of the poorest man in Nigeria can now go to school to the top without borrowing from anywhere,” the APC chairman stated, adding to the explanation of what Tinubu’s administration has accomplished thus far.

For that, the government has provided provisions. This is the sole instance of such in Nigerian history. The government has donated N1.5 billion to the Bank of Agriculture (BoA) in order to encourage young men who wish to pursue careers in agriculture.

“We have never had this opportunity before, ever before, ever before. For young people, we have the Youths Fund. This has never been done by a government before. And I can assure you that our president is there to provide young people with opportunities.

First and foremost, I would like to express my gratitude for your support, for sticking by our party, and for believing in it.

We are targeting people like you in our manifesto. The Renewed Hope Agenda is aimed at individuals just like you. And I’m eager to collaborate with you to make sure that 2027 brings the president, governors, senators, members of the House of Representatives, and members of the House of Assemblies.

Regarding the selection of Yilwatda as the party’s national chairman, Hon. Marlin Daniel, the pioneer secretary of the APC’s Bayelsa State chapter, thanked President Tinubu and the Sen. Hope Uzodimma-led Progressive Governors Forum (PGF).

He said that, given his background as a politician and technocrat with years of experience in the field, he is confident that Yilwatda will deliver party candidates at the polls.

In a statement, the PDP criticized the ADC, claiming that, in contrast to the ADC’s view, the PDP is still powerful.

The use of the ADC platform to attack the PDP rather than addressing important national issues is not only reckless but also revealing on the part of Bolaji Abdullahi, who is well-known for his roles as chief image maker and defender of the dishonest, deceitful, corrupt, and failed All Progressives Congress (APC).

The fact that the APC-indoctrinated Abdullahi appears to be upset that the PDP is gaining ground against the APC in the run-up to the general elections in 2027 is regrettable; this is why he is targeting the PDP rather than the APC.

“In any event, the PDP, the country’s strongest opposition party, which commands the respect, allegiance, and solidarity of the vast majority of Nigerians nationwide and serves as the broad platform for the country’s aspirations to overthrow the APC in 2027, will not stoop to join the fight against the ADC or any other opposition party in the nation for that matter.

“Instead, the PDP, with its performance history that Nigerians still remember with fondness, will continue to vigorously challenge the failed APC on issues while shaping constructive national discourse and galvanizing Nigerians to vote out the APC and install a people-oriented government on our party’s platform, come 2027,” the PDP stated.

Despite the fact that some of its members have defected, the party stated that Nigerians, who are the PDP’s true organic strength, are still standing shoulder to shoulder with our party.

The PDP claimed to have the political clout, national reach, networks, and base of support necessary to overthrow the APC.

Furthermore, it is interesting to note that the PDP, in its current form, has more than enough presidential candidates with distinct accomplishment histories and the ability to unseat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at any moment.

In the shared goal of saving our country from the APC, the PDP is still willing to collaborate with other well-meaning and like-minded individuals and organizations, the party stated.

The PDP went on to say that it is concentrated on building on the successes of its 101st National Executive Committee meeting and the progress made in its efforts at reconciliation.

According to the PDP, “Our party is working diligently towards a successful national convention scheduled for November 15–16, 2025 in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, and will not allow itself to be distracted by baseless attacks from known agents of the APC.”
