On her way from Benin, Edo State, to Ibadan, Oyo State, to return to her principal duty, the victim was reportedly abducted.
The kidnappers allegedly demanded a ransom of ₦20 million, which her family argued they couldn’t afford.

According to reports, the kidnappers lowered the ₦20 million ransom to ₦5 million after much back and forth.
On Saturday, Lawal’s friend Agbakwara, who was aware of the occurrence, provided an update on it, revealing that Aminat was once again free.
Agbakwara posted a video of the victim on Facebook and said, “The kidnappers put pressure on us in the early hours of Friday, saying that we shouldn’t expect her back if we didn’t comply with their demands.
Desperate, I contacted everyone I could, including her family, my fans, her local pals, her schoolmates, and the Muslim association.
“With the help of everyone’s kindness and combined efforts, we raised N1.1 million, which was transferred to an account the kidnappers gave around 4:20 p.m. on Friday.
“The recipient, Isaac Ayo, promised to deliver the ransom along with his own and stated that his sister had also been abducted.”
“Lawal was finally reunited with her family on Saturday morning,” he said.
We nervously waited for hours. The long-awaited call that they had been discharged and taken to the hospital finally arrived at around ten o’clock at night.
Another call came in this morning to confirm that Rofiat was headed home and that everyone else had made it back to their families without incident.
“Everyone who helped, shared the news, and tagged the appropriate authorities has my sincere gratitude. “This is possible because of your support,” he said.
