Council of Ndi Eze Igbo Validates Eze Chika Nwokedi as Ezendigbo of Lagos State
By Naomi Onome
Following the passing of the late Hyacinth Ohazuruike, the Apex Council of Ndieze has approved Eze Chika C. Nwokedi for the open post of Ezendigbo in Lagos State.
Citing his reputation and unwavering honesty, the council approved his appointment at its October 11, 2025, meeting in Lagos State. Over 40 members of the State’s LCDA have mainly supported Eze Okpoko’s nominations; meanwhile, Chukwuakalikamadu, Nwoye, Offia, and Nwajagu declined their nominations to make room for Nwokedi, who has been praised for genuinely loving Ndigbo and as an incredible philanthropist over the years.
Eze Okpoko 1, whose real name is Eze Chika Nwokedi, is well-known due to his outstanding leadership, culture preservation, and persistent dedication to humanitarianism and peace. In his capacity as Chairman of the Lagos State Council of Ndi Eze Igbo, he has shown insight, foresight, and commitment in fostering social cohesion, promoting Igbo culture, and furthering socioeconomic advancement. Through the Ndi Igbo Buru Otu Association of Nigeria and his leadership at Ladipo Market, he has empowered generations, built bridges across social and cultural boundaries, and strengthened communities.
As a royal father, cultural supporter, and humanitarian leader, Eze Chika Nwokedi has received several accolades that embody the principles of honour, kindness, and service to others. After years of continuous conflicts between warring factions, he recently showed his peace by diligently working with important parties to restore peace in Lagos’ Igbo-speaking community. Through the Eze Okpoko Foundation, which aids the weak and impoverished, he has impacted many lives and provided support to those who are less privileged in the society.
Eze Chika Nwokedi’s reputation as a humanitarian leader and his achievements, including receiving awards like the BAAF Awards for philanthropy, underscore why he’s considered a strong fit for the Ezendigbo role.
With the support of Ezendigbo Gburugburu in Lagos State, it is probable that Eze Chika Nwokedi was summoned to higher service as Ezendigbo, Lagos State, to carry on what he knows best.
As of the time of this report, Eze Chika Nwokedi has not made any comment yet regarding his endorsement; Naomisophyblog still awaits his response to update the public.
