According to Nigerian musician David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, his father’s teachings on faith in God are what inspire him to persevere through hardships.
Davido recently discussed his Christian background and the influence of his father’s religious teachings on his life in an interview with Rollingout.
He mentioned that his father taught him to never doubt God, which has helped him get through challenging times.
Despite his great success, my dad is an elder in the church. I grew up as a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. I went to a college that was Christian.

Because of my dad, I was able to overcome many obstacles. Although at first I didn’t comprehend, I’ve since realized. I felt enraged. I used to ask myself, “Why do good people get bad things?” I was also told by my father that you cannot doubt God.
“What do you mean that you are incapable of questioning God?” I asked. After my son Ifeanyi passed away, we had twins a year later. I also received my first Grammy nominations and released my biggest record to date. Then everything began to make sense. “Remember that God is with you no matter what obstacles you face,” he stated.
