Hilda Dokubo, a member of the Labour Party and Nollywood actress, has denounced President Bola Tinubu’s proclamation of a State of Emergency in Rivers State.

The suspension of Siminalayi Fubara, the state governor, and all state lawmakers by the president was also characterized by Dokubo as unjust and an assault on the state’s citizens.
“The presence of military personnel and their vans throughout Rivers State has crippled activities in the state,” she said.

Dokubo, who led a group of women in protest of the recent events in the state, stated repeatedly that “what is happening in Rivers State is not Siminalayi Fubara, it is a combat for the economic soul of Rivers State” in a video released by News Central.
The goal is to seize Rivers State’s economic heart. They continued to take advantage of us for twenty-four years, which is how our money was flying everywhere. With all sorts of silliness, it is present today and will be present tomorrow,” she remarked.

Since Fubara took office, she claimed, Rivers State has enjoyed the benefits of good governance and been peaceful with its citizens, particularly civil servants.

“This is the first time that civil servants have received payment on the thirteenth month; for the previous two years, civil servants have received payment on Christmas.”

Civil servants have received their full salaries for the first time, and the roads that connect the riverine communities have never experienced this before. They told us that our terrain was too difficult, but we now know that it is not.

Fubara informed us that an election could be held here in any manner, but it must not involve violence, bloodshed, or gunfire.

“He said yes when you told everyone to leave today,” Dokubo remarked.

Furthermore, according to Dokubo, Fubara has complied with all of the Supreme Court’s recent directives; however, the state is still experiencing problems due to the efforts of unseen forces.

She also accused members of the House of Assembly of undermining Rivers State residents’ interests in order to get what they wanted.
