The controversial musician Portable, whose real name is Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, has denied VeryDarkMan’s claims that he stole.
According to reports, the two started fighting as VeryDarkMan pushed President Bola Tinubu to address the ongoing killings in Benue and the nation’s economic difficulties.
In an Instagram video, the singer responded to the news by telling VeryDarkMan to quit criticizing the President. She claimed that VeryDarkMan began to enjoy a lavish lifestyle under Tinubu’s rule.
VeryDarkMan retaliated by releasing an old video of Portable being assaulted for supposedly stealing a Keke in 2020, before he rose to fame.
VeryDarkMan mocked Portable for stealing a tricycle on Wednesday morning in a diss track, yelling “Ole!” (thief).
In response, Portable called the social media critic “gay” and denied stealing the tricycle, according to VeryDarkMan.

In the meantime, Portable has explained the circumstances surrounding the phone theft allegations made against him by his previous record label.

Portable reportedly revealed in an Instagram statement on Monday, July 21, 2025, that the owner of Destiny Records gave him a phone while he was working there, but he left the label because of a lack of support, which he received negative feedback about.
The label’s owner, Ija Omode, who is currently the Vice Chairman of the Union of Road Transport in Ogun State, gave Portable a phone while he was working for Destiny Records. Portable left because of the label’s lack of support. This was greeted with animosity, nevertheless.
After he left, label folks grabbed the phone, figured out the password, and proceeded to publicly humiliate Portable by stripping him and charging him of stealing. After this incident, Naijakit posted a video of it online.
He said that after he left, some people connected to the label took the phone by force, ignored the password, and publicly humiliated him by stripping him and making up a theft accusation.
In addition, the “Zazu Zaeh” singer claimed that although those responsible for the incident had spoken with him privately, they had not publicly corrected the story.
The former label’s actions were blatant instances of bullying and intimidation, according to Portable, who also stated that the clarification was made to correct the record and shield up-and-coming artists from similar treatment rather than as payback.
