A three-month training program for 110 participants in Edo state was launched by the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) on Friday. The program is run by the Directorate’s Special Public Works section.
According to Mr. James Ikhanoba, the Edo State Coordinator, who spoke on behalf of NDE Director General, DG, His Excellency, Silas Ali Agara, the program is being implemented under the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Employment Initiative Phase 2 (RHEI2).
In his remarks during the orientation event for the 110 participants in Benin City on Friday, State Coordinator Mr. James Ikhanoba revealed this information and stated that the beneficiaries will receive training in four distinct professions.
Artisans In Collaborative Construction Employment Scheme (ACCES), Environmental Beautification Training Scheme (EBTS), Solar Energy Training Scheme (SETS), and the Special Public Works (SPW) Department’s Graduate Attachment Program (GAP) are the four professions, he stated.
The four (4) training programs, according to Ikhanoba, are labor-based and temporary in nature, with a three-month training period (September–December 2025).
As he puts it, “In hindsight, you may know that the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) established the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) to fight widespread unemployment and provide job opportunities for people of different classes, which transcend age, educational background, religious belief, and social status.”
To fulfill this noble goal, the Directorate implements a variety of programs, among which the EBTS, SETS, ACCES, and GAP are a subset.
Additionally, since each of you has been granted the freedom to select your preferred career path from the list of trades and skill sets, I will caution you to behave honorably while completing your internship and apprenticeship under your individual master trainers and potential employers.
