In keeping with Eid-el-Kabir’s celebration of sacrifice and compassion, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has urged President Bola Tinubu to immediately reconsider all anti-people policies, such as the exorbitant cost of petrol, power rates, and fees for basic services.
Debo Ologunagba, the party’s national publicity secretary, reportedly made the demand in a statement released in Abuja on Friday.
In the final two years of his term, the opposition party asked President Tinubu to focus on improving the lives of Nigerians and governing with humility and selflessness.

As the celebration of Eid-el-Kabir signifies the need for selflessness and obedience to God’s will, the PDP calls on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to spend the remainder of his term to prioritize the welfare of Nigerians, the statement said.

The party also demanded firm action against corruption and the complete return of public funds that had been embezzled, arguing that these funds ought to be used for improving national security, reviving the productive sector, and building infrastructure.

The statement further stated that “such stolen funds must be recovered and channeled towards the provision of critical infrastructure, revamping the productive sector, and enhancing the operations of our security agencies.”

In the midst of increasing social unrest, economic hardship, and insecurity, the PDP urged Nigerians to maintain their optimism, patriotism, and prayer.

In their statement, the PDP urged Nigerians to maintain their patriotism, share with one another during this difficult period, and pray continuously for God’s divine intervention in the country’s affairs.

Additionally, it exhorted the populace to strengthen their belief in “the unfailing love, kindness, and provision of God” in spite of the current difficulties.

Wishing all Nigerians a calm and pleasant holiday, the PDP congratulated Muslims nationwide on the observance of Eid-el-Kabir.
