Governor Uba Sani, the successor to former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has come under fire from his predecessor for supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
Governor Sani reportedly attacked politicians who were planning to band together to remove Tinubu from office in the 2027 presidential election in an appearance on TVC on Monday.
“The majority of these politicians who have stated that they are joining a coalition are politicians who were in power less than two years ago,” Governor Sani had stated. While in government, what did they do? The only reason they were fighting was to gain power, not because they were better at anything. No Nigerian president has ever truly exercised democracy as much as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a Tuesday post on X, El-Rufai responded, calling the Governor’s remarks pathetic and shameful.

He said Sani was supporting Tinubu since the federal government recently reimbursed the state billions of dollars.
“Every day I see this governor rambling in an embarrassing and sycophantic manner, and I used to wonder why,” El-Rufai wrote. However, it now clarifies all that Tinubu has given Kaduna selectively over the past 18 months with Federal Government “reimbursements, interventions, and grants” totaling more than N150 billion.
Make every effort to support Asiwaju in receiving the conditional cash payment. Since you gave it to Asiwaju, he deserves it. The Kaduna State populace will make the appropriate decision at the appropriate time. Have a pleasant day.
