This is to let you know that the election will stand and will not be postponed, and the presidential election comes up on February 25, 2023.

All Muslims and Christians are encouraged to come out in mass to vote for Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party, on February 25, 2023.

It is recommended that you come out early for accreditation, wait, and vote.

Those who have not yet received their PVC but have the proper voter slip should bring it with them so that they can be accredited to vote.

All security measures have been put in place, and therefore no one should be afraid to come out and vote. Anybody who wants to disrupt the voting process will be arrested and prosecuted.

The hardships facing Nigerians will soon be a thing of the past.

INEC’s National Commissioner on Publicity and Voter Education, Festus Okoye, said the Chairman of the Commission, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, had consistently and emphatically given Nigerians the assurance that the dates for the conduct of the 2023 general election were fixed and firm.

Okoye reiterated that the Commission had implemented 12 out of the 14 items on its timetable and schedule of activities.

He noted that Sections 132 and 178 of the Constitution circumscribed the period for the conduct of national and state elections, adding that it would be in the interests of the Nigerian people and the country’s democracy to hold the elections on the dates and times set out by INEC.

The introduction of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) has buoyed the confidence of Nigerians in the ability of INEC to deliver a good election. And as we go into this year’s elections, many Nigerians are enthusiastic that the outcome will reflect their wishes at the polls.

The BVAS is a dual-capacity device for recognizing fingerprints and facial features. It ensures that the person holding the voter card and trying to vote is the actual owner by matching these distinct features. In other words, the past debacle of politicians buying voter cards from voters and using them to vote en masse for a particular candidate would be eliminated.

Traditional rulers of the Yoruba people from Ekiti, Lagos, Kogi, Kwara, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, and Oyo States have asked the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies to uphold the right of every Nigerian to freely cast their vote.

Specifically, they urged all the duly registered voters to exercise their civic duties peacefully to engender the change they desired in the country.

INEC will track workers who handle BVAS.

The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, has said that only National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members are authorized election officers to handle the Bimodal Voter Authentication System (BVAS) during the February 25 and March 11 general elections.

Speaking after a tour of the training center for INEC’s ad-hoc staff or presiding officers and an inspection of the facilities of the national collation center at the International Conference Centre (ICC) on Saturday, February 18, Yakubu said corps members were mobilized because INEC can’t just rely on its workforce for the conduct of a credible and peaceful election.

He further revealed that corps members handling the BVAS will be tracked on election day. Yakubu said;
