Eze Chika Nwokedi and Family Celebrate Annual Thanksgiving at Fire Grace and Mercy Restoration Ministry in Lagos

Eze Amb. Dr Chika Nwokedi and wife Pst Tessy Chika Nwokedi, the Ugoeze 1 of Ijegun Ijeododo, connect with well-wishers to commemorate an annual thanksgiving service at the Fire Grace and Mercy Restoration Ministry on Sunday, November 30, 2025.

The thanksgiving focused on appreciation, which signifies a request for more blessings from God, linking thankfulness to strength and knowledge. Meanwhile, the highlights of the event include the cutting of the Thanksgiving cake, song ministrations, the testimonies given by invited guests and worshippers of the Fire Grace and Mercy Restoration Ministry and the words of wisdom by Eze Chika Nwokedi.

In a reflective speech, Eze Chika, during his special thanksgiving, discusses the importance of respect for God and earthly leaders, emphasising that one cannot worship the unseen God without honouring visible authority figures. He further highlights respect for community leaders and recounts personal experiences that illustrate the narrative; he conveys a mix of reverence, personal testimony, and community values.

At the special Thanksgiving service, the officiating pastor, during his ministration, emphasises the significance of gathering in truth, spirit, and unity, asserting that such assemblies, whether physical, mental, or spiritual, are blessed and uplift individuals. The focus shifts to the concept of consciousness and a thankful heart, underscoring the importance of being aware of one’s actions and intentions, particularly in a church setting, which should be approached with purpose rather than mere participation, he noted.

The preacher highlights that appreciation signifies a request for more blessings from God, linking thankfulness to strength and knowledge. Various categories of knowledge discussed are gnosis (theoretical knowledge), sunesis (revelational knowledge), and phronesis (practical wisdom)—emphasising that true spiritual strength stems from understanding and experience with God, rather than surface-level information. His message encourages deep reflection on personal testimonies and gratitude as essential for spiritual growth and fulfilment.

Eze Prophet Dr Chika Nwokedi expresses his deep gratitude to God, emphasising the importance of thankfulness in life. He noted that he holds a grand thanksgiving event every last Sunday of November, inviting the Igbo-speaking community and friends to join him in celebrating and appreciating God’s blessings. Central to his message is the significance of being alive, which he considers the greatest miracle of all. Dr Nwokedi reminisces about his long-standing tradition of sharing clothing during these events, highlighting that he takes joy in seeing others wear them during his thanksgiving rather than after his passing.

Reflecting on his life, he mentions the influence and legacy of his parents, particularly his father, Eze Aphonsus Okpoko, who was a figure of considerable respect in their community, having provided land and support to many. He recounts how he was hailed as a prophet from a young age, linking this to his family’s heritage and his unique birth story. He also talks about his responsibilities as a leader, planning to bless widows and members of the community in upcoming events on December 13, 2025, asserting that he is dedicated to helping others without expecting anything in return.

Despite facing financial challenges at some point, he remains committed to his charitable work, stating that helping others is a noble sacrifice. He draws a comparison to the biblical story of Job, indicating that trials are part of serving God. Dr Nwokedi concludes with a resolute commitment to continue his efforts, asserting that doing good draws the attention of opposition, but faith and divine trust will prevail.

Chief Gabriel Nwankwo, the chairman of the Igbo-speaking community in Igando/Egan, an invited guest at the thanksgiving service, emphasised the importance of gratitude at the year’s end, acknowledging the miracles of life and attributing the community’s well-being to divine intervention. He commends Eze Chika Nwokedi for his kindness, generosity, and contributions to humanity and the well-being of his family. Nwankwo concludes with a prayer for continued blessings and recognition of Eze Chika Nwokedi’s selfless efforts.

Comrade Chief Doctor Okechukwuku Uzuegbunam, chairman of the Igbo-speaking community in Ikotun-Igando, expressed excitement about Eze Chika Nwokedi’s annual thanksgiving event, highlighting its positive impact and the motivation it brings. He conveyed a message of blessings and strength for all attendees of the event, emphasising gratitude towards those who contributed to the church’s land acquisition. Ebunami prayed for hope and growth for contributors, wishing the Igbos safe travels to their home during the yuletide season.

Eze Chika fondly expressed gratitude towards Bishop Israel and his wife and other attendees for honouring the occasion of thanksgiving in his appreciation message.
