Folarin Falana, commonly known as Falz, a popular singer and activist, has accused President Bola Tinubu of failing to carry out his primary job of protecting lives and property in the country.
He berated the President for failing to address the country’s rising insecurity.
He stated this on his X account in response to the latest massacre in Benue State.
The ‘This is Nigeria’ singer claimed that Tinubu has repeatedly demonstrated that he is incapable of fulfilling his basic obligation of protecting lives and property.

He underlined that the President’s customary statement did not address the issue of insecurity.
Falz said, “You have consistently demonstrated that you are incapable of performing the primary duty of protecting the lives and property of your citizens.” This usual statement does not suffice.”
Falz remarked in another post that the killings in Benue have received insufficient attention.
He stated, “Over 200 people have been senselessly killed and burned alive in Benue, and this isn’t getting nearly enough attention. “Why are we so mean to ourselves?”
Meanwhile, Falz denied having a relationship with controversial crossdresser Idris Okunneye, also known as Bobrisky.
It was noted that in 2024, social media critic VeryDarkMan, commonly known as VDM, revealed Falz’s claimed phone conversation with Bobrisky while he was in prison.
The development triggered widespread homosexual suspicion about Falz, prompting him to sue VDM for defamation.
Despite the ongoing legal fights with VDM, Falz denied having a connection with Bobrisky in an interview with Arise TV on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, claiming that he merely attempted to help.
Falz updated VDM on the court matter, noting that the social media critic has yet to enter the defense.
He said, “An update on the court matter, which is currently ongoing. There is a substantive complaint in which my father and I are charging defamation. We filed the case, and they have never entered the defense. Instead, they filed a preliminary objection claiming the court lacks authority to hear the matter or whatever.
As on the previous date, I was in court. The court dismissed the preliminary objection. Now they must file a defense or the court will simply rule on the case. So that is the update. I can’t say anything about the present dispute, so I’ll leave it at that.
“I had never had a relationship with Bobrisky until that phone conversation. He messaged me on Instagram and said, ‘I’m in this situation and I’d like to speak with you about how you can help.’ Thousands of others have messaged me about similar topics. This is not a unique situation; it is not exceptional in any manner.
“In many of those circumstances, I’ll give them an audience and ask them what the P is and how I can help. Compassionately. Little did I know. Anyway, as the saying goes, “once bitten, twice shy.” At the end of the day, I’m not going to; maybe I’ll never aid somebody again in my life, but I’ll be lot more aware.”
