Ahmed Dangiwa, the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, revealed that 753 homes that were taken from Godwim Emefiele would be sold by the federal government.
The mansions taken from Emefiele, the former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), were turned over to the federal government by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday, according to reports.
The 753 duplexes and other flats that were taken from Emefiele are situated in the Federal Capital Territory’s (FCT) Cadastral Zone.
The seized estate will be finished and made accessible to the Nigerian public via an open and accountable procedure, Dangiwa said in a statement on Tuesday night.
A transparent and competitive approach would be used for the resale, the Minister promised.

It represents a major turning point in the government’s endeavor to guarantee that recovered assets are not wasted but rather are converted into useful infrastructure that directly helps Nigerians, he said. We will then carry out a thorough structural and integrity evaluation of all buildings and related infrastructure to guarantee their safety and fitness for habitation. In order to fully operationalize the estate, we will also finish any left-over infrastructure, such as roads, drainage systems, and other necessary facilities.
To guarantee architectural consistency and give prospective allottees direction, a standardized framework for dwelling design will also be created.
The dwelling units will then be put up for sale after a fair and open process that is overseen by the Renewed Hope Portal and extensively publicized.
