Female teacher arrested for alleged sexual assault on four-year-old child

A female teacher named Aunty Zara has been detained by members of the Borno State Police Command for allegedly sexually assaulting a four-year-old student in Maiduguri.
The arrest on Saturday in Maiduguri was confirmed by the command’s spokesman, ASP Sani Kamilu.
The suspect, a teacher at a private school in Maiduguri, was detained last week, according to Kamilu, who also said the Command had started an investigation.
He stated that after the investigation was finished, the case would be sent to the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP) for further evaluation.

Hassan Dala, the victim’s father, told the police, “I noticed my daughter was painfully urinating with blood after returning from her school, Golden Olive Academy, and I thought it was a problem of dehydration or infection.
“It was when we took her to Umoru Shehu Ultra Modern hospital in Bulumkutu ward of Maiduguri Metropolis that we were told my little daughter was forcefully penetrated.
“The mother spoke to the daughter and she told the mother what the aunty has been doing to her.
“She said that the teacher cuddled, gave her breasts to suck and inserted a finger in her private part.
“We have reported the matter to the police. What we want is justice,” he said.
