Human rights attorney Femi Falana claims that in order to impose accountability on social media corporations, he filed a lawsuit against Meta, Facebook’s parent company.
According to reports, Falana sued Meta, claiming that he had falsely linked him to health problems, and demanded $5 million.
Nigeria’s Senior Advocate demanded a social media regulation law in an interview with Channels TV on Monday.
He acknowledged the need of criticism in a democracy but also pointed out that it was being abused.

Regarding his prospects of winning the lawsuit against Meta, Falana said that neither Meta nor its proprietor, Mark Zuckerberg, are above the law.
