A Kingston Crown Court in the United Kingdom has convicted four Nigerians involved in a phone-robbery ring that terrorized the city of London to a total of 55 years in prison.
This was discovered in a statement that was downloaded on Monday from the UK Metropolitan Police website.
The statement lists David Akintola, Ayomide Olaribiro, Olabiyi Obasa, and David Okewole among the prisoners.
James Adodo, Laville Bloise, Nelson Joel, Michael Babo, Robert Hills, and Mushtakim Miah are among the others.
According to the allegation, the group conducted 13 phone robberies in various UK businesses between September and November of 2024.
It went on, “The group primarily targeted EE stores, forcing employees to open secure stock rooms with threats of violence before stealing expensive cell phones and other devices.” They stole goods totaling £240,000 in value.
Using DNA evidence, call logs, and car records, officers were able to connect suspects to the crime scenes. Officers watched the group as they got ready to commit more crimes, and on November 19, 2024, they entered an EE shop in Kilburn to apprehend four of the guys involved.
“Stolen devices and additional evidence linking the group to the robberies were recovered from searches at addresses associated with the suspects.”
According to the statement, eight of the ten individuals detained during the operation entered guilty pleas to conspiracy to rob on January 30.
According to the statement, they were sentenced on Friday, November 7 after entering a guilty plea.
The following punishment was highlighted: “James Adodo of St Martins Road, Dartford, Kent, was sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment.” David Akintola of Woolwich’s Samuel Street received a six-year, six-month prison sentence.
Michael Babo of Gilbert Close, Woolwich, received a six-year and ten-month prison sentence. Robert Hills of Gravesend, Kent’s Mayfield Road received a five-year, three-month prison sentence.
Warrior Square, Manor Park resident Ayomide Olaribiro received a sentence of four years and six months in jail. Nelson Joel of Dartford, Kent’s St. Martins Road received a sentence of three years and three months in jail.
“Olabiyi Obasa of Norfolk Close, Dartford, Kent, received a sentence of three years and six months in jail. David Okewole of Northfleet, Kent’s Vale Road received a sentence of seven years and six months in jail.
Two other individuals entered guilty pleas to attempted robbery and received appropriate sentences, according to the statement.
“Laville Bloise of Goldcrest Close, Thamesmead, received a two-year prison sentence with a two-year suspension.
It further stated that Mushtakim Miah of Artillery Place, Woolwich, received a sentence of eight years and six months in prison.
